The breviary is the prayer book that contains the prayers and texts of the Liturgy of the Hours, which is prayed five times a day by all priests, bishops, deacons, and religious as a canticle of praise to the Lord. Recently, the Vatican announced that it has approved a new English translation of the breviary for liturgical use in the United States. Those who are obliged to pray the Hours have been asked to begin using this new translation. New breviaries will cost about $300 per sister.
