Handmaids Opening House in Milwaukee

Our New Home

After several years of discernment and prayer, the Lord has opened a way for us to establish a house in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. We recently became aware of the former convent of the Dominican Sisters of the Perpetual Rosary at 217 N 68th Street, and we were able to purchase the building as a future home for our sisters. The building is 30,000 square feet and is ideally located for our sisters to serve in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.

We anticipate sending sisters by the fall of 2027. In the meantime, we will need to raise funds for the purchase and renovating of the new convent. Please consider helping us make a home for our sisters.

How to Help

  • In order to pay for the convent and for needed renovations, we are trying to raise $5.5 million. This includes:

    • Purchase of the land and property

    • Updating of roof, heating system, windows, flooring, lighting, and electrical

    • Designing and furnishing of the chapel

  • Please help us make a home for our sisters in Milwaukee by donating below or sending checks to Handmaids of the Heart of Jesus at 515 N State St., New Ulm, MN 56073.
